Audio Transcribers (Sign up)
DRBY has a repository of Dharma talks and discussions from conferences, ongoing classes, retreats, and other special events. These audio files would be very useful to share with the world, particularly if they were converted from an audio file into edited text. Transcribing is highly recommended way to enter and access the Dharma.
Tasks:

Requirements:

Strong command of the English language.

Requires your own computer; we recommend an audio headset. We can provide transcription software.
Copy Editor (Sign up)
Tasks:

Perform transcripts and articles for grammar, punctuation, spelling, and style.
Managing editor (Sign up)
Managing editors are responsible for shepherding articles through the entire editing phase, starting with the raw audio files to the finished edited articles.
Tasks:

Review transcript or article submissions with editorial board

Assist and answer questions for transcribers and writers

Requirements:

Some familiarity with project management processes

Photographer (Sign up)
- Take photos at DRBY events.
Graphic / Layout Designer (Sign up)
Tasks:
- Touch up photos for online and print publications.
- Layout skills.
Graphics Editor (Sign up)
Tasks:

Soliciting or producing graphics, photography or artwork as needed.

Cataloging existing graphical assets, including graphics and photographs that have been used.

Optimizing online graphics for fast download speed.

Formatting all graphics in the appropriate format for the online version and the print version.
IT support staff (audio faq, web site support) (Sign up)
DRBY is planning on greatly expanding its web presence by providing new content, events, instructions for practice, and community space in a dynamic web site.
Tasks:

In charge of web hosting account, web server, maintaining web server software, possibly expanding to support streaming media.
Requirements:

Maintain a high-availability hosted web site.

Maintain web server software, including tracking server performance.
