Hi Everyone,
As many of you might have noticed, there are a lot of exciting things happening in DRBY these days. For those of you interested in exploring Buddhism or diving deeper into it with the support of a community of young practitioners, we have a series of upcoming events as well as ongoing activities for you to plug into. Please note that we are planning on sending out emails more frequently (maybe once a month) to keep you posted on what's going on with DRBY. If you would like to be removed from the DRBY mailing list, please contact us at info@drby.net Best wishes in the Dharma, DRBY
New Website
If you haven't visited our website in a while, we're in the process of redesigning and revitalizing it to offer more resources, articles, photos, and news about upcoming events and activities. We plan on making it more interactive, more informative, and more useful to young adults interested in Buddhism, so we'll be adding new resources and features as we go along. DRBY 10th Annual Spring Conference
This past weekend over 85 people came together at the Berkeley Buddhist Monastery for DRBY's 10th Annual Spring Conference, entitled "Insight and Happiness on the Buddhist Path." It was a wonderful and Dharma-packed weekend filled with delicious vegan food, insightful and humorous speakers, meditation, discussions, community, and Buddhist music. Thank you for all the participants, speakers, chefs, volunteers, and organizers who helped make our 10th Annual Spring Conference such an amazing event. For more information about the conference, check out our website.
Spring Retreat
As a follow up to the conference, on April 11th-13th, we invite you to join us for a weekend practice retreat at the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas. Designed for people new to Buddhism, we will spend the weekend looking at the key parables and insights of the Lotus Sutra in order to shed light on the Bodhisattva ideal in Buddhism. There will be meditation sessions, discussions, lectures, ceremonies, exercises, and an opportunity to deepen your practice and understanding of the Dharma in a monastic environment. Everyone is welcome to attend and the cost of the retreat is by donation. For more information or to register online, please visit: www.drby.net/index.php/events/details/13-spring-retreat
